Note: Barefoot shoes are ideal for natural terrain. For frequent running on hard surfaces like asphalt or concrete, shoes with more cushioning may be more comfortable.
I bought these sandals for my 6 year old and was a bit nervous on how he would like them. They are a great lightweight material and offer his feet lots of room to keep their natural shape and range of motion. They quickly became my son's favourite shoes as they feel like he isn't wearing shoes, and are super easy for him to independently put on. My only critique is that the sole of the sandals seems to always pop out of the shoe when taking them off and this can be frustrating to my child at times.
