    A good base layer is the foundation of every outfit that keeps a kid comfortable outside in the cold. Get the base layer right and everything else — the fleece, the shell, the snow pants — works better. Get it wrong and no amount of outerwear fixes it.

    We carry wool and synthetic base layers for kids up to size 14Y — because older kids spend just as much time outside and deserve proper layering options too. Both materials have their place: wool regulates temperature naturally and stays warm even when damp, synthetic dries faster and is often easier to care for. We're happy to talk through which makes more sense for your kid's activities and how they wear their clothes.
