A good newborn or baby hat does more than look cute — it protects from sun, wind, and cold when you're out and about. We carry a variety of hats at Nest & Sprout, from classic beanies to seasonal styles, made from soft, breathable fabrics that are gentle on delicate skin.

Many of our hats coordinate with children's sleepwear or other children's clothing collections.

    Do babies need hats?

It's a bit of a contentious topic — babies don't strictly need hats, but they're genuinely useful for protection from sun and cold when heading outside.

    Should babies sleep in hats?

No. Babies regulate their temperature naturally as they grow, and hats during sleep can contribute to overheating. For consistent warmth overnight, a thermal-rated sleep sack is the safer choice.
