We smashed it this year.

For real.

The economy hasn’t exactly been amazing, but there was still a desire for dry warm hands and feet. We are genuinely grateful you leaned on us for your new and used needs.

This year we sold 200 pairs of new and used winter boots, tripling the number of boots we sold the year before, and crushing any previous year. Which is absolutely wild to me and I am so grateful.

Footwear is one of the products I want to continue to lean into because while there are choices in Prince George, there's definitely an opportunity to improve the buying experience for families - I hate how much room shoe boxes take up, but I absolutely love it when we finally find a shoe that fits your little explorer.

I will be putting winter boots into storage at the end of January, because summer swim is almost here. They'll be pulled from the internet sometime mid March with a relaunch in August.

We added more big sizes expanding into a youth 7, where possible and have that planned for spring too. I'm going to hit up some footwear related trade shows to track down more options for the community.

Which brings us to Boxing Day — a chance to be honest about what we have too much of and make space for what’s next. Markdowns have started to happen across the shop, with even more to come on Friday.

Here’s what you need to know about Boxing Day - I genuinely love Boxing Day. It feels like a natural end to the year; as we clear out what we overbought for the holidays and making room for what’s coming next. It's the start of a reset.

A few important notes:

• Most brand specific promotions will officially end December 31
• Orders placed during Boxing Day will not be fulfilled until January 5–6, once we’re back from our holiday closure

On the topic of making space… We’ll be accepting holiday-specific clothing again in the new year, just like we did last year.

I sincerely hope that, like me, you’re able to take some time over the coming week to rest, reset, and do the things you actually want to do. The end of the year can be a strange and complex time for many of us.

I’ll see you in January and I’m really looking forward to settling back into the everyday shopping of things like jeans, maternity wear, and all the regular-life essentials.
