Suncoat: The Canadian-Made, Kid-Safe Nail Polish You’ve Been Waiting For

by Bailey Bouwman

At Nest & Sprout, we’re always listening to our customers and you've been asking for an alternative to Piggy Paint. You also wanted COLOUR OPTIONS, more than just pink - so we reached to our friends and found a recommendation.  That’s why we’re excited to announce the arrival of Suncoat Kids Nail Polish to our store—a Canadian-made, non-toxic option that’s perfect for little hands and creative hearts!

Why Suncoat?

Suncoat Kids Nail Polish offers a worry-free way for children to express their creativity without exposure to harsh chemicals or toxic fumes. This peelable, water-based formula is:

  • Non-toxic: Free from acetates, formaldehyde, toluene, and other harmful chemicals.

  • Safe and gentle: Designed specifically for kids with no need for chemical removers—just peel it off!

  • Low odor: Unlike traditional polishes, Suncoat’s formula is virtually odorless. - for reals, and this is one of my favourite features. I hate the smell of nail polish.

  • Canadian-made: Proudly manufactured in Guelph, Ontario.

Created by Canadian chemist and mother Yingchun Liu, Suncoatgirls' formula replaces the harmful solvents found in conventional polishes with water. Up to 70% of the polish is water, and it’s colored with mineral pigments and natural colorants. This innovative approach makes Suncoat a pioneer in non-toxic beauty products. This product story is absolute perfection - we love when products are made in Canada, and designed by amazing mothers.

A Clean and Fun Nail Polish Experience

Traditional nail polishes often come with toxic fumes and the need for harsh removers. Suncoat Kids Nail Polish changes that by offering a clean, safe, and fun experience for young nail artists. Whether it’s for a birthday party, a creative playdate, or just some at-home fun, Suncoat provides vibrant, peelable colors that last for days on fingernails and even longer on toenails.

We have found this to be a true kids nailpolish in that it can break down fairly easily and begins to chip. I had applied it over what was already on my nails - a basecoat of sorts - and it wont peel off. But my daughter applied it to her own nails and it easily peels when she wants it.

We’re thrilled to bring Suncoatgirl nail polish to our shelves and provide families in Prince George with more safe, fun, and colorful choices.
