Weekly Email : Boot season is over… and suddenly none of the sneakers fit.
You're not alone if your kids slid into their sneakers this week and yelled 'MOM THESE ARE TOO SMALL!" This week we have helped many families transition into the next size for the spring sneaker season. From our collection of new shoes to second hand shoes - it's been a sneaker heavy week.
Younger kids will grow a foot size every few months, and the older kids can go a few years. There's lots of descreprencies, especially when we hit elementary because a second grader can wear a size 13 to Junior 7.
Good news - Reebok is on clearance. This was a bit of a miss; we'll probably seek out another brand but while it's here it's here.
Reima restocked for spring; but theres also lots of great ankle boots in their collection. Most of Reima's ankle boots are ReimaTec with a waterproof membrane to keep feet dry.
Before shopping for shoes - be sure to check their size. An easy way to do this is to trace both feet and measure the longest part. This measurement can be used in store, or online. Remembering we need room to grow and move.

Reima shoes have 'happy fit insoles' which helps us understand when to size up, and when not. This has shown us that many families are buying shoes too small.
The size is good, when the foot is inside the happy face area. It's still fine when the toes reach the line – you don’t need to leave extra room for growth. If the toes clearly cross the line, the shoe is still usable but when it's time for new shoes, we suggest moving to a bigger size
The Jan & Jul Mini Flyer (or the Scout) is our best selling new walker shoe - starting at a size 4 it offers a wide toe base, adjustable upper, and flexible rubber sole.
Back when I had kids - I don't remember style of early walker shoe wasn't available. Shoe shopping doesn't have to be painful experience - there are a lot of great products on the market.
And if we don't have your size, style or colour of Jan & Jul - just ask us to order it in. We can bring it in for you and you don't have to worry about shipping or returns. I forgot to order spring Jan & Jul last summer, and will be putting together orders as we can through the season!

It's not just shoes.
It's entire wardrobes that were once perfect fitting are now crop tops and too short of pants. Many families have been able to update an entire wardrobe for under $150 by mixing in store opportunities.
• our low-price basics
• the $10 Souris Mini rack in stor
• clearance deals that are hard to beat
• and of course consignment finds
It’s a busy season in the shop — but a really fun one too.
