Sized Out? We've Sized You Back In: New Jan & Jul Sizes & Gear for Winter 2026

If you've got a kid who's sized out of their favourite Jan & Jul winter gear, we've got good news: Jan & Jul just went bigger. A lot bigger. 

Watching some of your kids slowly age out of their favourite products has been a growing concern on my radar as your local kids boutique serving Prince George and Northern BC. With fewer boutique brands, and fewer youth products on the market we are always ecstatic to find more for big kids, pretweens, and those elementary aged kids who still deserve to be children. 

Whether your "baby" is now a confident 10-year-old or you've got a teenager who still needs warm hands and a warm head, this season's shipment has you covered without sacrificing the same great, affordable, get-the-job-done winter gear you already trust.

Our first of many shipments for the season just landed, so let's get into what's new.

New Sizes This Season

This is the big one: Jan & Jul expanded sizing across several of their bestsellers, so families don't have to size out and start from scratch elsewhere.

• XXL Toasty-Dry Waterproof Snow Gloves — now available for bigger kids who need serious warmth and waterproofing.

• XXL Toasty-Dry Trapper Hat — sized up to fit ages 12–16 (up to a 59 cm / 23.2" head circumference).

• New XL size in the knit collection — knit hats and knit mittens now go up to a 5–12 year size, filling the gap between toddler and older-kid sizing.

• Fleece jackets and fleece vests — now ordered up to size 12 (12–14Y), so older kids can stay in the fleece layer they already love.

As always with Jan & Jul, age ranges are a guide, not a rule — measuring hand circumference or head circumference will get you the most accurate fit, especially at the bigger sizes.

New Products to Check Out

Along with bigger sizes, this shipment brought in a few brand-new products worth a look:

• Fleece gloves — a lighter alternative to the waterproof gloves for milder days.

• Fleece balaclavas — an easy warm layer for the kids who fight you on hats.

Our first shipment wasn't just about new sizes — it's a genuinely robust restock and refresh:

• A full kids' snowsuit collection

• New junior-size shoes, including the Urban knit shoe

• Restocks of our best-selling cozy booties and winter booties for all your littles (these double as great car-seat shoes)

• New fleece bunting suits in cute patterns, with matching beanies and mittens

• A restock of the Cozy Dry collection : don't let the name fool you, this rain gear collection should be more affectionately known as a lightweight snowsuit collection perfect for the winter ahead

A Quick Note on Sizing

We've got updated size charts in for both the Toasty-Dry Waterproof Mitts & Gloves and the Toasty-Dry Trapper Hats -  handy if you're deciding between a size for this winter and a size to grow into. As always, when in doubt, measure and size up rather than down for anything adjustable. I did find both products generous on my 10 year old daughter with room to adjust and grow - which I had to reassure her would be absolutely fine.
