73 Costumes Shared in 2025
Each fall, Nest & Sprout in Prince George hosts a community costume swap to let you swap costume for costume --- because we know that spending money on something you use one day of the year kind of sucks.
Costume Swap 2025
This year, 73 costumes found new homes. I don't have great records from 2024, but I believe it's more than double the 30 costumes we did last year.
About half of those were part of direct swaps (families brought in a costume and received a voucher), while the other half were purchased by families looking for affordable, sustainable costume options.

The Heart Behind the Swap
Hosting the Costume Swap every October is something we look forward to. It’s not about the numbers (though they help us measure growth); it’s about making spac for community sharing and sustainable choices. They say a ridicolous number of costumes hit the landfill each year - I don't believe that. But even if y'all are out there tossing costumes, I hope the swap provides a space that fits your budget and lifestyle needs.
What’s Next
If you still have a swap voucher, don’t forget to bring it in by November 15 to receive your $10 store credit.
We’ve tucked away about 55 halloween costumes for next year’s event, but storage space is limited. If you’re able, we kindly ask that you hold onto any extra costumes until next August, when we’ll start collecting again for the 2026 swap.
You can shop halloween costumes online - they will all be uploaded in the coming day. But note these items are in storage and will take additional time to prepare your order.
Thank You
Thank you to everyone who participated --- whether you swapped, donated, or shopped. You helped make this our biggest Costume Swap yet, and together, we kept dozens of costumes in circulation and out of landfills.
