Top Picks for Prince George Campgrounds

Purden Lake

Purden Lake Provincial Park is a BC Parks operated site located 65km from Prince George, which takes about 45 minutes to drive. This campground features a brand new playground that is perfect for keeping busy kids entertained. The only downside is that it's a 10-minute walk to the beach for swimming adventures, but there is a public parking lot at the beach for day visits.

Bear Lake

Bear Lake, also known as Crooked River Provincial Park, is a BC Parks site located 75 km (about an hour drive) north of Prince George. This lake boasts an amazing sandy public beach that is great for day visits. The quaint campground has sites near the water, playgrounds, and hiking trails. We only stayed here for one night, but we're eager to return. Bear Lake is a fan favorite for families due to its accessibility, cell-phone coverage, and lake swimming.

Ten Mile Lake

The campground and resort at Lazy Daze Resort is a favorite amongst our friends. This family-friendly, pet-friendly campground features some of the best lake shore on the lake. It is a private campground and is located 112 km from Prince George, which takes about an hour and 15 minutes to drive.

Salmon Valley

In the heart of the Salmon Valley, just 27km (23 minutes) north of Prince George, is a small privately owned campground that books up fast due to its stunning location, river-side fun, and overall amazing-ness.

Campsites Further from Town

If you don't mind traveling 1-2 hours, there are a few more campsites that your family may enjoy - and I know that's used casually because in the North sometimes an hour or two isn't far - but sometimes it feels like a lot with a baby.
