What are dungarees?

I'm not even sure how to pronounce the word, but dungarees are a style of clothing that typically feature bib and brace overalls with adjustable shoulder straps.

They are practical and easy to wear, perfect for little ones who love to play and explore. Our dungarees come in a variety of fun prints, including the cute all-over duck print and the vibrant flower power design.

Fun history fact that we learned in looking up the origin of dungarees, which you might also now know as an overall or romper style clothing 

Originally, dungarees were made from a coarse, thick cotton fabric known as "dungri" that was produced in the Indian city of Dongri (now known as Mumbai). The fabric was sturdy and durable, making it ideal for workwear and protective clothing - you'll notice that these childrens Dungarees mini that. Dungarees were popularized in the Western world in the late 1800s and early 1900s, where they were worn as workwear by farmers, mechanics, and other laborers.

The dungarees are available in a range of sizes up to about a 3T and the baby sizes with popper openings on the crutch for easy diaper changes. Our duck shirts feature shoulder popper openings for sizes up to 2-3 years, making them a perfect choice for easy, no tears dressing. Poppers are fantastic to ensure you get over that big head but have a comfort neckline.

All Piccalily products are made from 100% organic cotton interlock fabric that is GOTS certified, ensuring they are chemical-free and gentle on your child's skin. They are machine washable for easy care and made in India with love by Piccalilly.
