In Review | Consignment 2025

by Bailey Bouwman
I have shared the million reasons on why we jumped into consignment - and truthfully, there’s been a lot of doubt along the way. But this year, we finally hit the momentum and saw the growth we needed to feel like we made the right choice for the health of the business, not just my personal morals and values.
  • Shared about $50,000 with local families
  • Increased our monthly consignment sales by over 8X

This means I get to start dreaming about the future. Or at least it's let me start thinking about where we could go and what we could achieve. I want to move into a bigger space - to give you more space to explore all that we have from preemie to big kids size 14, and maybe even start consigning some of that gear. But I figure I need to be confident that we can scale to doing 1 million per year in sales.
So on my list of things to do is
  •  Hire staff to help with consignment processing
  •  Rent a storage facility to store seasonal product - so I spend less time moving around it
  •  Focus on doubling our monthly consignment sales - our regular product continues to be the back bone of the shop; so to move into a new space consignment needs to continue to grow.
  •  Finally catch up on all my bookkeeping... this is christmas breaks task.
  • Continue to evaluate pricing for profitability without hoarding
That’s what for 2025 and consignment.
Consignment is just part of our business because I still have a passion for new product - and helping you find the right fitting shoe, a warm boot, preteen clothing, and cute stuff that you can’t get anywhere else. In a small town, both sides of the shop compliment each other to keep us moving forward when it feels like everyone is closing up shops.
